I just gave it a try to make an avatar of myself.




Karavaan


Tonight I saw 'The Vicky Vinex Road Show' by Daphne de Bruin& Joop van Brakel at Kunsteyssen. It was a great performance! My work was selected to hang in the foyer because it completed the feeling of this show.




Exhibition during Karavaan theatre festival.


From August 1 until August 5 at Kunsteyssen in Alkmaar.

Expo at KREK


KREK (Kunst Ramen Eyssen Kaaspakhuis).

From Juli 23 until September 10 I will show my project 'Stolen Identity' at KREK http://www.xs4all.nl/~peokx/gallkrek.html founded by artist Pé Okx. It is an artist-runned windowgallery in Alkmaar.

The balaclava is totally knitted with human hair, even the bright colours. They are from fluorising-dyed hair from the musical 'the little mermaid'.

It is creapy! Even I have to get used to it.




Burka


The burka is knitted.
The burka is knitted. It is totally made of human hair, I like to upheave the purpose of the burka. Woman wear and has to wear it to cover up their face and hair, this burka is made of hair. Now I have to discribe the purpose of making it and find a good way to show it. It has to be 'filled' with a body otherwise it is an empy piece of knitted hair.




New project.


Weird balaclava's from the sixtieth.
I found these weird balaclava's on the internet and through E-bay I got hold of the knittingmagazine from 1965, with the knitting paterns. I will knit them with different colors of human hair.

The burka is 'growing' slowly. I knit roughly 1cm. an hour.
